Social media is becoming a worrisome place, especially because people are willing to do crazy and dangerous things in order to gain fame on online platforms.
What makes this worse is that they’re willing to endanger the lives of others in order to do it.
The Malaysia Animal Association is now on the look out for a boy who decided to throw a cat from a hill top for the sake of social media content and entertainment.
They wrote, “The action of a young man throwing a cat from a high place has happened again. Preliminary information says it was done for the sake of entertainment.”
Based on the information they received, the Malaysia Animal Association believes that the incident happened in Malaysia after seeing a Perodua Myvi in the background of the video. Their source also suspects that it happened near a farming area in Sarawak.
Nonetheless, anyone with any information or anyone who recognises the perpetrator is asked to step forward to file a report with the authorities. Your identity will be protected.
“Throwing a cat, even for fun, is a serious crime against animals that can be life threatening and cause death to the cat. It violates the Animal Welfare Act 2015. The public is also reminded not to use animals as material for making entertainment videos such as TikToks and other applications. It is very harmful to animals,” they added.
