We know that each city has different standards of living and Singapore definitely costs more than Kuala Lumpur. However, a job posting on Facebook has piqued our interest as we had no idea that the disparity is that huge!

Haidilao Singapore has taken to their Facebook page to post about several job vacancies that they have. They were offering 10 different full-time jobs and one part-time job. As for the full-time jobs (which are mostly physical), the “lowest-paying job” is at 2,350 SGD which is equivalent to RM7,151.

These are the posts and their starting salary:

The company also boasts about its “flexible working hours” as they have many shifts that are available.

In Singapore, there is no law which states how much the minimum wage of a full-time worker should be, although, it has been proposed to be at SGD1,300 (RM3,955). In comparison, we Malaysians do have a minimum wage law and it is set at RM1,200.

According to a Singaporean financial blog Money Smart, a “cheapskate” mode of living will cost someone SGD 1,190 (RM3,621), the “mid-range” mode of living will cost SGD $2,510 (RM7,637) and the “high-end” mode of living will cost SGD9,710 (RM29,548).
