Malaysians have been experiencing really hot weather in recent weeks with little to no rain in sight. In fact, the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MET Malaysia) recently announced that there is a heatwave that will badly affect certain areas in Malaysia like Kedah, Perlis, Penang, North Perak, North Terengganu, the inner regions of Kelantan, and the inner regions of Pahang.

However, things are looking a little differently over in Kuala Lumpur where thunderstorms are expected to occur in the next few days, according to AccuWeather.

This afternoon (3 March), the rare occurrence of hail was found in Cheras, Kuala Lumpur.

A video shows what looks like tiny balls of ice falling from the sky along with a heavy downpour of rain.

Other videos show a similar situation at Taman Len Seng and Taman Legend Mas in Cheras at about 5pm.

Meanwhile, residents in Selama, Perak have been experiencing hail today (3 March) as well. According to Facebook page, Viral Perak, the sky is dark in Ipoh and has already started raining.

Various other areas in the Klang Valley like Hulu Langat and have also sighted hail.

Although hail in Malaysia is rare and quite fascinating to see with your own eyes, do ensure that you are safely indoors as severe hailstorms can cause damage to property or even injuries to those without shelter.
