22 Ramadhan Bazaars across Malaysia has been ordered to close starting tomorrow (1 May) to curb the spread of Covid-19. Housing and Local Government Ministry secretary-general Datuk Zainal Abidin Abu Hassan told that the decision was made during a meeting with the National Security Council on 28 April.
According to Agenda Daily, the period of how long the bazaars will be closed has still not been determined. These bazaars were identified as threats to the Covid-19 infection. The threats were identified through contact tracing analysis using the MySejahtera application.
The bazaars closed involve bazaars from Johor, Kedah, Pahang, Perak, Penang, Selangor, and KL. The affected bazaar are as follow:
