This Malaysian is a prime example of picking yourself even after a literal storm puts you down.

With it being Ramadhan season, many vendors have seized the opportunity to recover their businesses that saw some lows throughout the MCO. Despite the new norms and strict SOPs, hardworking vendors have been putting in their best efforts to provide food and services for their customers.

However, on the first day of Ramadhan, Ras Ezat, found his stall, Soroq Kitchen, at Kampung Baru, KL completely destroyed in the storm. He and his friends initially planned to open a stall in front of their house and even put a capital of almost RM2,000 to finish the business site. As luck would have it, the freak storm that hit KL that day tore down the roof of their stall.

“We were so disappointed then as we couldn’t sell any of the food we had prepared. In the end, we just decided to donate the food.”

Following this incident, Ras and his friends decided to convert their stall into an online food delivery service. When Ras posted his plight on Twitter, it quickly went viral with Twitter users supporting his business and also praising him for not giving up after the incident.

Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, Ras said that on the second day of Ramadhan, they only got about 50 orders but thanks to “viral power”, their orders increased to 100 packs a day. With the help from Malaysians, they can now resume business as usual!

If you’re interested in placing orders for your buka puasa meals, you can do so by WhatsApp-ing them here. For any updates and new menu selections from Soroq Kitchen, make sure to follow their socials at:
