Ah, IKEA, the land of cheap and quality household items!

On 18 May, IKEA Malaysia took to their official Facebook page to make a very important announcement. The announcement is regarding a recall of some of the tableware, namely, HEROISK or TALRIKA plates, bowls, and mugs. IKEA urges the buyers of the aforementioned tableware to stop using it at once and to contact IKEA for a full refund.

They stated that the main reason for the recall is,

“Safety is a top priority for IKEA and therefore we are taking precautionary measures and recalling HEROISK and TALRIKA plates, bowls, and mugs as they can break and potentially cause burns due to hot content.”

However, they have assured the consumers that all their products are tested and comply with applicable standards and legislation. However, they have received reports of the tableware breaking, although, no incidents have been reported in Malaysia. So this recall is for precautionary purposes!

The HEROISK and TALRIKA products can be returned at any IKEA store at the Exchanges & Returns counter for a full refund. There is no need for a receipt.

“IKEA apologises for any inconvenience this recall may cause.”

If you have any queries or need any additional information, you can contact the IKEA Customer Contact Centre at 03-7952 7575.
