Selangor Open To Implementing Full Lockdown Under Certain Conditions

The post Selangor Open To Implementing Full Lockdown Under Certain Conditions appeared first on WORLD OF BUZZ.

Previously, it was reported that Selangor Task Force Covid-19 chairman Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad’s claimed Selangor is capable of handling the Covid-19 pandemic without a total lockdown. However, now it seems that the Selangor government might believe otherwise.

As showcased on Buletin TV3, the Selangor Menteri Besar, Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari, shared that they are open to implementing a total lockdown under certain conditions.

“The state government will accept the lockdown with the hope that it will be implemented holistically. Holistic in the sense of observing and seeing other aspects of life such as those who are marginalised, mental health, social circumstances and other lessons we learned from the first MCO,” he said.

If implemented, he believes that there should be clear SOPs that are not constantly changed, an efficient and comprehensive home education scheme, a proper financial plan to help the underprivileged and a well thought out exit plan.

He also shared that there should be more efficient vaccination processes and larger-scale swab testing to prevent the Covid-19 spread.

While the implementation of a full lockdown in Selangor is still in the discussion stage, Datuk Seri Amirudin added that the authority to implement it lies in the hands of the federal government and the National Security Council (MKN).
