Following the extension of Full MCO until 28 June 2021, the Covid-19 intelligent management system (CIMS) approval letter obtained by essential workers will be valid until then, which means no renewal is needed.

According to the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI), the decision is prompted by the extension of Full MCO from 15 June to 28 June 2021, as announced earlier by Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

Besides, the police will also continue to accept movement permit applications throughout the FMCO period, according to Home Minister Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainuddin.

“The police will continue to accept travel letters or permits issued by 12 ministries and agencies approved by the National Security Council. This is for the purpose of coordinating enforcement of movement control at roadblocks,” he added.

Other than that, he said the police had conducted almost 1,000 roadblocks and closed 129 “rat trails” identified as alternative routes used by the public for illegal interstate and inter-district travel. Those who falsify travel permits and provide fake information to obtain movement approval letters will face strict action.

Companies can apply for approval letters to operate during the FMCO through the Covid-19 intelligent management system (CIMS 3.0). More information can be found here at the official MITI website.
