PDRM is offering a 50% discount for traffic summonses starting 18 June to 18 July.
However, this does not include court cases, other major offences committed this year, according to Bukit Aman Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPT) director Datuk Azisman Alias.
The list of offences not included in the compound reduction include:
- Beating red traffic lights
- Using emergency lanes
- Dangerously cutting queues
- Crossing over double lines
- Accidents
- Offences under court trial
- Offences that cannot be compounded
- Lorry-related offences
- Exhaust pipe modifications
He said in a statement that individuals can register through PDRM’s official portal at https://mybayar.rmp.gov.my, or download the application on the Google Play Store or Apple Store.
“The MyBayar summons application has been enhanced to enable companies and business entities to register as users and subsequently make payments through the application,” the statement said.
“During the campaign period, all summons payment counters at the Contingent and the District Police Headquarters will be closed to reduce the spread of Covid-19 infection during the Movement Control Order (MCO) 3.0 period.”
“The MyBayar saman is JSPT’s initiative in supporting the government’s intention to provide a completely cashless payment service to the community.”
Datuk Azisman Alias added that he hopes the discount will be able to help those in difficult situations during the Covid-19 pandemic.
