A Royal Malaysian Navy (TLDM) helicopter, a AS555 SN Fennec, was involved in an accident at the Lumut RMN Base, yesterday (28 June).
Based on a report by Astro Awani, the Strategic Communications Division of the Western Fleet Command Headquarters shared that there were, thankfully, no casualties during the incident that occurred at 12pm.
“The incident did not involve any injuries to the public and the location of the incident is under control,”
“All the crew were rescued and are currently undergoing further examination at the Lumut RMN Base Armed Forces Hospital,” they shared.
They also added that an investigation committee will be set up to identify the cause of the incident.
This is apparently the first accident involving a TLDM aircraft in the span of 30 years throughout the establishment of the KD Rajawali Air Squadron based in Lumut.
