The one thing students dread most is exams. After all, it can be truly stressful to try and predict what questions may come out in the test.

But what happens when students are allowed to create their own questions for their exams?

According to India Today, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Goa decided to allow their students to create their own questions to answer as part of their semester exams.

The move was made in an effort to ease the pressure that students may be facing during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The examination read, “Prepare the questions of 60 marks from the lecture materials provided to you during the entire semester (Lecture 1 to Lecture 30). It should reflect your understanding of the course and also must be answered in two hours. Avoid discussing with your friends. It may reduce your score if similarities are found.”

Students are then required to answer their own questions.

The right questions can accumulate a total mark of 30, and the appropriate answers will be given a total mark of 40.

Many have since shared their praise for the institute’s initiative towards their students’ well-beings and have urged other educational institutes to implement similar examination patterns.
