The statement was uploaded on the prime minister’s Facebook page. It reads,

“The government has agreed to advise Seri Paduka Baginda Yang di-Pertuan Agong so that the Special Meeting for the third term of the 14th Parliament can be held for five days (from 26- 29 July and 2 August) for Dewan Rakyat and three days (from 3-5 August) for Dewan Negara.”

The statement says that the meeting aims to give an explanation to the members of the parliament on the National Recovery Plan and to amend all legislation and rules so that parliamentary sessions can be held in hybrid.

Article 150(3) of the Federal Constitution states that all emergency proclamations and ordinances made by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong shall be laid before both Houses of Parliament.
