The Ministry of Education Malaysia (MOE) has informed that schools will be opened in stages for face-to-face Teaching and Learning (PdP) from 1 September 2021. The decision was made after taking into account the increasing vaccination rates among teachers, administrators and support staff in schools. In the official statement released by MOE, it is stated that,
“As of July 16, 2021, a total of 253,366 teachers and administrators (61.30%) and 10,876 support staff (46.3%) have received at least 1 dose of their vaccinations.”
However, the MOE also said that they will continue to take into account the risk assessment by the MOH and NSC to see if there is a need to make changes to the date. Any changes will be notified in advance and further details on the opening of the school for face-to-face PdP sessions will be notified at least one week before the school opens.
