Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin said that he has made a suggestion to the Covid-19 Managing Committee regarding the relaxation of particular restrictions for individuals who have been fully vaccinated. The suggestion encompasses a relaxation of restrictions in the aspects of travelling, going to stores and dining-in at restaurants.
He mentioned that this is to show that while the nation is battling Covid-19, it is possible for the rakyat to gradually go back to their normal lives.
The PM who was at a food basket distribution centre located at Kompleks Kementerian Pembangunan Wanita, Keluarga dan Masyarakat (KPWKM) in Putrajaya, also said the following according to a report by UTUSAN.
“Don’t say the government is not paying attention”
“Please be patient, don’t say that the government is not paying attention. Don’t believe in the campaigns that are saying that the government has failed, (sorry, I do not want to talk about politics here) but please be confident with our cooperation, the leadership in the government alongside with the rakyat and NGOs. We can win this war.”
He said that the vaccination rates have been increased to more than 421,000 doses per day and it will continue to maintain at that rate. It is also said that the government’s current focus is on vaccinating the Greater Klang Valley area (Selangor & Kuala Lumpur), Pahang, southern areas of Perak and northern areas of Negeri Sembilan with a high number of cases.
The prime minister is confident that the vaccination process is going well and on time. According to him, the National Recovery Plan sees a majority of the rakyat vaccinated by the end of the year 2021.
Malaysia’s daily vaccination rate
Meanwhile, CITF indicates that it has been three days since the daily vaccination rate went past the 400,000 doses mark. As of now, these are the statistics of those who have received their first dose of vaccinations in our country.
And this is the vaccination statistics according to each state for 14 July.
While the relaxation of restrictions may appear to be a nice thing, it should proceed with caution as fully-vaccinated people CAN still contract Covid-19, as reported by CDC.
