It’s so heartbreaking to see stray and sick animals not being able to live happy life. And even if they’re rescued, there’s still a lot they need.
A Pet’s Journal in Klang Valley has been operating since 2013 when they first rescued an accident victim and brought her to the vet. They’ve been adopting and taking care of stray dogs as a self-funded shelter ever since.
A Pet’s Journal adopts and takes care of disabled dogs, especially those that are paralyzed or blind. There are now approximately 118 dogs, paralyzed, blind, and special needs dogs at the pet shelter. In order to help with the expenses and treatment costs for the dogs, they also sell baked meat, chicken, and pork loaf on a daily basis.
Speaking to the WORLD OF BUZZ, they said they are currently having a hard time paying the monthly rent of the shelter due to a lack of financial aid. Being a self-funded shelter, A Pet’s Journal admitted that the rent and treatment costs are heavily reliant on pet food deliveries.
“The rent is indeed a monthly headache. We can bear the kibbles, utilities, supplements, and most of the vet charges but the rent is just too big for our earnings,” they added.
Some of the furkids in the shelter are very sick and their treatment costs are quite unbearable since none of their dogs is sponsored by anyone at the moment. They face vet charges almost every day and the treatment bills for the sick dogs could go up to RM14,000.
“The rent of the factory we are housing all the furries is whooping RM 10,000. Please help us to pay rent,” they added in their Instagram post.
