During these tough times, many people are doing their best to not only help their fellow Malaysians in need and extend their assistance to our furry friends who are struggling to find food. But that doesn’t mean these kind souls aren’t struggling themselves.
Helping others, including animals, can be a little costly, which is why Persatuan Haiwan Terbiar Malaysia (SAFM) has launched a food bank initiative to help pet owners and street feeders to feed our furry friends in need!
SAFM shared with WORLD OF BUZZ that animals may very well be the most neglected group throughout the pandemic.
“The pandemic has hit our country for more than a year, causing all kinds of financial, health and other troubles. But, there is one group that is often forgotten by society during this time, which are our animals.”
“Animal caretakers, feeders and volunteers are finding it increasingly difficult to ensure that the animals do not starve. SAFM would like to help these parties involved in curbing the huge impact Covid-19 has on the fate of our animals,” they said.
With that, they started a food bank initiative at multiple locations across the Klang Valley, to help pet owners and street feeders who may be struggling to feed the animals during this time.

“To those who need cat and dog food, you are very welcome to take what is necessary from the food banks,”
“Let’s spread the word so that more animals can be helped, whether they have owners or not. Animal Food Bank SAFM will start from 31 August 2021 and will last for about two weeks,” they added.
In order for this initiative to continue beyond the two-week mark, SAFM will need your help!
“We welcome contributions from the people so that the food bank can continue on and expand to more locations,” they shared.
