With there being ease of restrictions for those who are vaccinated, the criteria that comes with it is that they would need to flash their digital vaccine certificate wherever they go. However, it often takes some time to reach your certificate and if you’re unlucky, that could lead to a queue being built up behind you.
In a tweet, Mohamad Faiz Bin Bahruddin, 30, has asked for the developers of the MySejahtera application to revamp their app a little to make sure that the digital certificate shows up right after you check in.
In his tweet he has said:
“It gets annoying to wait for the person entering our shop to close this page (the check-in page), go to profile, scroll down, show the digital certificate and calculate 2 weeks from today.”
His ingenious idea was well-celebrated on Twitter and his tweet accumulated 25,000 likes and more than 30,000 retweets at the time of writing.
Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, Faiz said that the purpose of the label is to facilitate staff to view the vaccination status of an individual. He added that it is in no way to single out anti-vaxxers or discriminate although it’s a good way to put pressure on these groups of people.
Faiz who works in the retail industry spoke at length about his experience,
“For us working at the retail industry, we face the risk of breaking SOPs by allowing non-vaccinated people through and risking our health at the same time.”
“By having this quick access to the vaccination status, we’d be better at enforcing the regulation.”
He also elaborated that as of now, it takes about 15 – 30 seconds on average for a customer to display their digital certificate. It’s definitely tougher to manage if customers come in groups.
“I believe a second longer to wait for them to display their digital certificate, is a single second longer of exposing ourselves to the possibility of the virus making its way into our business.”
The 30-year-old said that if this was implemented, there should also be a label for those who are exempted from the vaccine due to certain medical conditions.
We certainly think that this is a much-needed feature! What are your thoughts on this? Let us know in the comments.
