In an official statement released by Jaya Grocer, customers wanting to visit the Jaya Grocer outlet at Jaya Shopping Centre cannot do so, after two personnel working in the Poultry and Beef section was tested Covid-19 positive.
In their statement, the management of Jaya Grocer writes, “Upon learning that two of our halal department (poultry and beef) staff at Jaya Grocer Shopping Centre tested positive for Covid-19, we immediately decided to close Jaya Grocer Shopping Centre at 12.45pm today.”
“The staff’s last day of work was on 6th August 2021. As per our standard modus operandi, we will be quarantining all close contacts of the aforementioned staff.”
“Jaya Grocer Jaya Shopping Centre will be cleaned and sanitised today in accordance with the guidelines set by the Ministry of Health by a government-approved, third-party company.”
In their announcement, Jaya Grocer assured patrons to the supermarket that all produce will be replaced.
“Jaya Grocer at Jaya Shopping Centre will reopen tomorrow on Sunday, 8th August 2021. All returning staff will consist of individuals who have tested negative and are not close contacts of the aforementioned staff.”
