5.8 Million Malaysians Aged 18 & Above Have Been AUTOMATICALLY Registered To Vote

A total of 5.8 million voters aged 18 and above can check and verify themselves as voters starting today after they were automatically registered.

Based on a report by Utusan, the Election Commission (EC) secretary Datuk Ikmalrudin Ishak said the Automatic Owner Pre-Registration Review (SPPA) process will last until 31 October.

“For this purpose, the EC will display information for voters and give them the opportunity to check and verify records,” he shared.

This matter can be done through the MySPR SPPA application directly through the official website.

Voters can also head over to the 604 checkpoints nationwide and scan the quick response (QR) code of the Parliamentary Constituency which will be placed there.

During this period, Datuk Ikmalrudin added, Malaysian citizens over the age of 18 could check, confirm the information and make a complaint to the EC before being automatically registered if the information requires changing.

“If they no longer live at the address displayed, prospective voters are advised to update their identity card address at the National Registration Department (JPN) before 31 October,” he added.

If you have any questions in regards to the registrations, you can contact the state EC office or the EC hotline at 03-8892718 or visit their official website.
