Melaka’s Famous Capitol Satay Celup Restaurant Will Be Closing Its Doors Permanently After 30 Years

Melaka has always been known as one of the food capitals of Malaysia, which is why it is saddening to know that one of the most beloved eateries in the state will be closing its doors permanently.

Capitol Satay Celup Restaurant has always been the ultimate go-to late-night makan spot in Melaka, but sadly, Malaysians will only have a couple of months left to enjoy their mouthwatering meats-on-sticks.

Capitol Satay Celup Restaurant 佳必多沙爹朱律 took to their official Facebook page to share the heartbreaking news.

They wrote, “Notice to CLOSE DOWN this 30-year-old shop within these two months. Despite this, we are still allowing customers to dine in during this period, until further notice.”

They’ve since also changed their operations times from 4pm to 11pm, on Tuesdays to Saturdays.

“Please pardon us for any dissatisfaction, we appreciate your all-time support.”

While you’re dining in at the eatery, please do adhere to their SOPs.

“Please wear your mask anytime you leave your seats (to select skewers, to go to their toilet, etc). Your safety, our priority. Thank you,” they added.

It’s truly sad to see such a gem close its doors after so many years of providing the general public with a place to hang out, satiate their cravings and enjoy some of the best skewers Malaysia has to offer.

Thank you, Capitol Satay Celup Restaurant, for all the good food and memories.
