The Minister of Health, YB Khairy Jamaluddin confirmed that starting 18 October 2021, the government has agreed to shorten the quarantine period for travellers returning to Malaysia from 14 days to seven days only and can be done at their respective homes if the situation permits them. This privilege only applies to travellers who ha been fully vaccinated. For those who are partially vaccinated, they will need to quarantine for 10 days at the nearest quarantine centre.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri announced this earlier on his official Facebook page. He also clarified that close contact individuals who are fully vaccinated will only need to isolate themselves at home for seven days. Those who are partially vaccinated will need to isolate themselves for ten days.
Although we are slowly getting back our freedom, we would like to request everyone to take their own initiative in practising the SOPs diligently as well as testing themselves for Covid-19 whenever they are going to travel or even to go lepak with friends. We are responsible for our own well-being which will directly impact the spread of the virus. We have gotten this far, let’s not lose sight of our goal.
