The United States Opens Its Borders To Fully Vaccinated Travellers Without Quarantine

More countries are reopening their borders to international tourists following the progress of the worldwide vaccination rates.

After shutting its border closed for nearly 20 months, the United States of America (USA) has now opened its door to international travellers, including from Malaysia.

Of course, you have to be fully vaccinated to travel abroad. According to BFM News, The US Embassy in Kuala Lumpur had stated that the proof of vaccination status can be shown via the MySejahtera application for Malaysian travellers.

While no quarantine period is required, anyone who enters the United States has to be tested negative for the Covid-19 virus at least 3 days prior to their departure. However, children under 18 are exempted from the vaccination requirement, as reported by CNN. Mask mandates are still in effect in most places, as well as vaccine requirements for indoor public spaces including restaurants.

As of 8 November, these are the approved vaccines for the travellers,

Janssen/Johnson & Johnson
• Pfizer-BioNTech
• Moderna
• AstraZeneca
• Covaxin
• Covishield
• BIBP/Sinopharm
• Sinovac

Keep in mind that you are only considered “fully vaccinated” by the CDC two weeks after your second dose in a two-dose series, or two weeks after a single-dose vaccine.
