The cops have already warned us not to buy pickled mangoes from the “traffic light vendors” and those who do will be fined RM2,000. So buying these mangoes is considered illegal here.
Someone in Penang was caught in the act yesterday wanting to satisfy his pickled mango craving BUT in a very dangerous way. A dashcam recording was shared by Facebook user Da Vid showing a Proton Waja car suddenly stopping in the middle of the road. And mind you it was not an empty road. There was heavy traffic!
A pickled mango street vendor can then be seen walking towards the car. The driver then buys two portions of pickled mangoes.
Once done, the driver drives off casually completely oblivious to what had happened at the back of him.
As he had abruptly stopped in the middle of the road to satisfy his pickled mango craving, two unsuspecting drivers at the back couldn’t break in time causing both of their cars to meet with an accident. It is believed that a car had crashed into the rear of the car with the dashcam.
This has caused great inconvenience to both drivers involved in the collision and all other drivers stuck in traffic due to the collision.

The video has since garnered nearly 500k views. Many netizens commented that it would have been better if it was the said Proton Waja driver who was inconvenienced instead to teach him a lesson.
“Dahlah beli mangga illegal, tapi why no karma pulak?! Universe, strike him, not other drivers!”
One Netizen joked that perhaps the driver was forced by his wife to stop the car at once to satisfy her mango craving.
Another urged our cops to take action since the incident and car registration number are available,
“bukti no plate… rakaman video dah ada… apa lagi… #PDRM”.
There are many netizens who are furious with the driver AND also the vendor actually. Many are under the opinion that such “traffic light vendors” should be banned.
