The government and media have been reinforcing the importance of getting a booster shot to combat the Covid-19 virus, but only 50.4 per cent of the adult population in Malaysia has gotten the booster dose as of yesterday.

According to the Ministry of Health’s Covidnow website, 36.2 per cent of Malaysia’s total population has gotten the booster dose, while 79.8 per cent has gotten at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.

So far, a total of 11,809,467 booster doses was administered. For adolescents aged between 12 to 17 years old, 91.1 per cent of them have received at least the first dose of the vaccine.

The new active Covid-19 cases for yesterday, on the other hand, are 4,913 cases, and there were 3,767 recovered cases.

As the Chinese New Year approach and more of you are returning to your hometowns, remember to get the booster shot as soon as possible and self-test before meeting your families to protect their safety.
