Sinovac Booster Shots Available As An Option At Offsite PPV Starting 14 Feb

The Sinovac vaccine as a booster dose will be available at all Offsite Vaccination Centers (PPV) under the National Covid-19 Immunization Program (PICK) for free from 14 February. ProtectHealth Corporation Sdn. Bhd. said it was following the announcement by the Minister of Health, Khairy Jamaluddin Abu Bakar on February 7 to allow recipients of the Sinovac vaccine previously to get the vaccine as a booster dose. From the statement shared on the company’s official Twitter, it was stated that,

“Therefore, those who are eligible to receive the booster dose and want to get the Sinovac vaccine can check the list of PPV Offsite on the ProtectHealth website at the link https://ift.tt/17d8evs. However, the Ministry of Health (MOH) still recommends a booster dose of Pfizer for Sinovac vaccine recipients because it offers a higher level of protection.”

Adding to the statement, the public who have any questions related to the matter can contact ProtectHealth at 03 8687 2525 or email vaksincovid@protecthealth.com.my.

Khairy Jamaluddin also chimed in and stated that any booster is better than no booster. Although MOH has recommended either receiving the Pfizer or AstraZeneca booster for extra protection, there are still those who ask for choices to be given. MOH are still strongly recommending either Pfizer or AstraZeneca booster shots but something is better than nothing.
