It’s no secret that Malaysians love llaollao.
So much so, that some are willing to open copycat stores of the Spanish frozen yoghurt brand?
II.Ia.Io Malaysia just opened their first outlet in Ampang, Kuala Lumpur, and are offering 50% discounts as an opening promotion but Malaysians are pointing out the obvious, they look waaay too similar to the famous llaollao.
In a recent post, II.Ia.Io Malaysia wrote, “Alhamdulillah, we are open to the public starting 11am to 10pm. Let’s come together at II.Ia.Io, Ampang. Promotions of up to 50% based on certain terms. Enjoy now!”
Malaysians have since taken to the comment section to call out the new brand for blatant plagiarism and not differentiating themselves from the already established llaollao.
“Stupid, copied exactly.”
“Fuhh copy paste exactly the same as llaollao. Until the shape of their spoon is also the same.”
“Find la your own identity, why do you have to copy? Until the spoon and the font (of the branding) is exactly the same.”
Others asked the important question.
While llaollao Malaysia hasn’t exactly formally responded to the ruckus, they definitely did not leave netizens hanging on what they think of this new frozen yoghurt business.

There really is nothing wrong with wanting to open a frozen yoghurt store, but the team behind the new brand could have done a lot better with coming up with more original branding and differentiating themselves from an already well established brand.
It just feels like they’re trying to ride on llaollao’s coattails.
