Singapore Aux Police Now Has An F-9 Unit With Kitties As Officers

The Auxiliary Police of Aetos Holdings in Singapore recently launched a Feline Unit, known as the F-9 to supplement its specialist force. Now if you’ve heard of the police’s K-9 units with featured dogs as ‘officers’, kitties can now join in the fun too.

Just how effective are they? Well, according to reports, these felines are trained to patrol, sniff out and deter threats.

Named Gargar, according to the Aetos Holdings’ Facebook page, this feline is equipped with extraordinary jumping skills, grumpy personality and nine lives to boot.

Are they better than dogs? Well, cats are more sensitive to smell and has a significantly better ability to discriminate between a greater variety of smells.

“This means they could seek the scent of anything from cancer and tuberculosis to explosive substances and humans.”

Adding that the feline is ‘mission-ready’, our guess is Gargar still has a long way to go, especially when asked to stay still for an official photography session.

Aiyo!
