The case of Sam Ke Ting and the 8 teenagers on basikal lajak (modified bikes) should have been a solid reminder to youth, especially to avoid dangerous stunts at all costs.
Unfortunately, some are not bothered by the possible grave consequences. Recently, a video that shows 2 underage teenagers on motorcycles performing “wheelie” and dangerous stunts in Kulim, Kedah has gone viral on social media.
Both teenagers are seen riding on the motorcycles and 1 of them rode the motorcycle WITHOUT wearing helmet.
1 of them even performed “wheelie” in a zig-zag form. You can watch the stunt in the clip below.

Thanks to the power of social media, it did not take long for the police to locate both the teenagers in the video and apprehended them. According to a report by Kosmo, the head of PDRM’s Traffic Department & Enforcement in Kedah, Superintendant Mohd Mahiri Hussain said the teenagers, who are both 16-years-old were brought to the police station yesterday (4 May) from their respective homes in Lunas & Padang Serai.
The incident took place on Jalan Nagalilit & Jalan Fasa 4 Hi-Tech. They rode the Modenas Kriss & Honda EX5 motorcycles, respectively.
Mahiri also revealed that the police traced the license registration number of the motorcycles by using the Mobile Computerised On-Line Payment System” (MCOPS) device.
Making it an online content? “Smart” move
Malaysians have since commented on the issue and criticised the decision to post the stunts online which eventually led to the arrest.
“Smart move. Do it again in the future please.”
“Showcasing your talent at the wrong place.”
“Kids these days are smart. They capture their own mistakes and post them online. Congratulations!”
“Raya in prison!”
“There goes your duit Raya, kids. Pay the compound.”
While it’s common for some young blood to be eager in trying out new things, the awareness of the consequences down the road should also be taught. All lives matter and it is saddening for some youths to have their time wasted like this.
