With all the talk that’s been going on about youths needing political education before they exercise their voting rights, this could be a good opportunity to prove to our nation’s leaders that there are young, capable Malaysians who are educated and should be in government!

If you’re a Malaysian citizen below the age of 35 and have a keen interest to work alongside our nation’s leader, you might want to consider this job opening.

The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) has recently put out a call to hire youth advisors for the PM’s advisory department.

In a Facebook post by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, (KBS Malaysia) the vacancy explained that the “establishment of the Youth Advisor role to the Prime Minister is an initiative taken by the government to allow capable youth to contribute to the agenda of creating policies or decision making of the country’s highest leadership.”

“This group of advisors will have a complementary role and add value to the aspects of planning and implementation of existing as well as future government initiatives.”

All you need to do to be eligible for this position is to be a Malaysian citizen under the age of 35 who is not bankrupt, free of criminal records and possesses at least a Bachelor’s degree.

The PMO is looking for a candidate who has records of outstanding achievements in any of the following fields:

Economy
Health
Social
Science and Technology
Education
International Issues

among other relevant fields. A few key criteria that interested candidates should meet are leadership qualities and abilities, a good personality, and the capability to contribute ideas to build policies at the highest level.

Those who are interested in applying can also be nominated through the following categories:

1) Nominated through Ministries/Agencies/Departments

2) Nominated through NGOs or Private sectors

3) Nominated through Individuals
