One thing we’ve all come to realise is that our elderly parents will fall for anything that is being shared on WhatsApp. And they’ll share it to a million others too!

But, what they don’t realise is the danger it poses when the information they receive and choose to share turns out to be fake.

As according to the News18, a woman in London not only drank her own urine for four days straight, but also made her children do the same, after she had received a video on WhatsApp that was forwarded to her by a friend.

The video allegedly claimed that drinking your own urine would cure Covid-19.

She shared that she had no faith in vaccines and preferred ‘traditional’ alternatives, hence she followed the instructions of the video by drinking her own urine and ensuring that her children did the same.

They did this for four days until the woman realised that the unorthodox cure was probably not working.

Though drinking your own urine won’t actually hurt you, but it isn’t exactly beneficial either. It can also introduce bacterias, toxins and other harmful substances into your bloodstream and place stress on your kidneys, as reported by Healthline.

Hence, the best thing to do in such times is to only rely on information verified by medical professionals and credible organisations.

And, whatever you do, don’t believe everything you receive on WhatsApp.
