With the sheer amount of people suffering through the pandemic, it can sometimes be hard to help as many as you can.
Machang Bubuk assemblyman, Lee Khai Loon took to his Facebook profile to showcase how he had purchased all the meals off of a chicken chop street vendor, only to hand them out to food delivery riders and any hungry people that he came across.
He wrote, “Where there is a will, there is a way. For the sake of finding an income during the FMCO, Firdaus, who is from Terengganu, holds a placard to sell chicken chop by the roadside. The chicken chops are readily packed and placed atop his motorcycle.”
“How many packs are there? I want to buy them all as a show of support to young people who work hard,” Lee told Firdaus.
The young vendor was shocked and happy as he had apparently never experienced a customer purchasing all of his food.
“When I was thinking about who to send the 17 packs of chicken chops to, suddenly, food delivery riders who work hard to send food to the public appeared before my eyes,”
“So, I immediately passed some chicken chops to these frontliners who were resting and waiting for orders. Some of them had not had lunch yet. Some were surprised. Some were hesitant as they were worried they had to pay,” Lee continued.
But the happiness the riders expressed when receiving the food was all Lee wanted.
“I was relieved to see the smiles on the faces of the riders when receiving the chicken chop. Thank you to all the riders who sacrificed and served throughout this FMCO period. May they be protected and blessed by God,” he added.
With one simple act of kindness, he managed to help a young street vendor achieve his sales for the day while feeding our frontliners and anyone who needed it.
