Recently, the Persatuan Haiwan Terbiar Malaysia (SAFM) took to their Facebook page to showcase a video of a man hanging a puppy before proceeding to scold it. He had also apparently beaten up another puppy with a stick.
Both puppies could be seen in pain
They wrote, “Cruelty towards animals is getting worse. Persatuan Haiwan Terbiar Malaysia (SAFM) has received a 3.36-minute long video in regards to a man who hung a puppy while scolding and beating it. The man also beat up another puppy with a piece of wood. Both puppies could be seen in pain, asking their owner for empathy.”
This incident is believed to have taken place in Bagan Datuk, Perak.
They have since urged anyone with information about the man to step forward.
“Witnesses are asked to come forward to testify on this incident. This is to help the poor animals. Maybe the man will conduct more cruel acts on these dogs if no witnesses come forward. We have to save these animals that are being hurt,”
“If there are any friends or relatives who know this man, please come forward to provide information on his whereabouts,” they added.
No one should feel like they have the right to abuse animals, hence, justice must be served.
“Criminal cases involving animal torture can be convicted under Section 30 of the Animal Welfare Act 2015 where the offender can be sentenced to a minimum fine of RM20,000 to RM100,000, or imprisonment of not more than 3 years, or both,” they explained.
We genuinely hope that the authorities take notice of this and do their level best to bring the man to justice and save the poor puppies from him.
