“I like to be different” Italian Man Gets A Tattoo Of His Vaccination QR Code

If you’re sick of having to open your MySejahtera app at every shop you stop by, you could consider this instead…if you’re ready for a lifetime commitment.

Similar to Malaysia’s requirements, Italy also requires citizens to show proof that they have been vaccinated via a  Green Pass before they are allowed to take part in social activities like dining in or shopping. The Green Pass confirms the individual has received completed doses of the Covid-19 vaccine. The pass shows evidence of the individual’s Covid-19 vaccination status, their recovery status if they have been infected or if they have tested negative within the last 48 hours.

Berita Harian reports that one 22-year-old Italian, Andrea Colonnetta did not think long about his decision but wanted something practical to showcase his Green Pass. Hence, he decided to get it tattooed on his arm with his tattoo artist, Gabriele Pellerone.

“It’s something original, I like to be different,”

said Colonnetta to the Corriere della Calabria newspaper.

He only has to raise his arm up for his Green Pass to be scanned and he will be allowed inside McDonald’s, claimed Colonnetta. However, many netizens who saw this on Pellerone’s TikTok were in disbelief as they mentioned the expiry of the Green Pass after six months and how the QR code is subjected to change after an individual gets his third dose of vaccination.

Well…he should have probably thought of that before deciding to get something permanently engraved on his body. Colonnetta sure is bold enough to mark himself that way!
