In a statement posted on the Ministry of Health’s Twitter account, the Health minister has decided that they will be opening up booster shots for those who had taken two shots of the Sinovac vaccine three months prior. The priority will be given to those who are above the age of 60 and they will be getting a Pfizer booster shot.

“Our objective for this booster dose is to ensure that vaccinated individuals will have optimal protection.”

Getting a booster dose will be completely free of charge and voluntary. Those who are eligible will be getting messages regarding it on their MySejahtera application or text messages if they are not registered on MySejahtera. Booster shots for individuals who were vaccinated with Sinovac will begin nationwide in phases starting from 22 October.
