Rescuers Rush To Break Into a House in Sri Muda To Save Soon-To-Deliver Pregnant Woman

As the flood condition in Taman Sri Muda, Shah Alam has vastly improved, we can’t help but imagine the terrifying moments the victims had to endure before things got better.

On 19 December (Sunday), when Taman Sri Muda was completely submerged in floodwater, a man had to stay awake the whole night to keep an eye on his pregnant wife who was scheduled to deliver the baby in 2 days time!

With no signs of incoming help, Dzul expressed his concerns via a Facebook post. As of 7 in the morning, the water level had risen to as high as 7 feet! The first floor of the house was completely submerged and the family had to seek shelter on the upper floor of their house.

“My wife was crying and the kids wondered why. I could only ask them to hug their mom.”

WORLD OF BUZZ reached out to Dzul yesterday (23 December) and according to him, his wife had successfully undergone an operation to deliver the baby, and as of yesterday, the baby boy is in good condition. His wife had also been safely discharged from the hospital. His children are currently staying with his mother.

When asked, he said the condition in Sri Muda has certainly improved a lot and the water level has receded, but he has yet to look at the aftermath of the house in the wake of the devastating flood. Ever since the rescue, he has been busy with matters in the hospital and keeping an eye on his wife.

The rescue

Fortunately, rescuers on a boat managed to rescue his family. As the first level was completely inaccessible, the rescuers had to break the grill at the bedroom window to get them out.

In the video below, you can see how high the floodwater was during the weekend.

The rescuers immediately brought them to a checkpoint in Section 19, Shah Alam. From there, volunteers with 4X4 rushed the wife to the nearest hospital.

It is definitely good news to know that the whole family is safe. However, the disaster is not over yet as the flood has started to strike the other states in Malaysia.

To the affected victims, please stay strong. In the meantime, do help in any way if you can to ease the burdens of the victims!
