If you do not know about the Evian water fiasco, here’s a quick rundown.
On 31 January, the government has announced that they are dropping the ceiling price of chicken by 20 cents, from RM9.10 to RM8.90 and the meeting was documented in a video.
In the video, netizens have spotted that the ministers were served Evian mineral water which was very ironic since many Malaysians are unable to afford their daily groceries while our ministers are out here drinking RM8 bottles of mineral water.
It has only been 24 hours since the Evian fiasco started but the government is quick to take action as they have started to wrap up the mineral water bottles with napkins.
This is pictured in a series of photos by BERNAMA, where several ministers including the prime minister, Dato’ Sri Ismail Sabri Yaakob were speaking on a TVET-coordinating (technical and vocational education and training) body.
Netizens were amused with the effort that they put in to hide the brand of the mineral water and they were determined to find out.
Some say that it is F&N’s Ice Mountain as the cap is dark green while others question whether it is the French-produced Volvic water which also has a dark green cap.
After some debate, the netizens have decided that it is the cheaper one as the cap is flatter and thinner.
This action of hiding the brand has been criticised by many.
“Wow, mineral water bottles are wrapped now. It must be a cheap brand.”
“Is Evian out of stock?”
“Ok but we now have an additional cost for the wrapper for what?”
While some say that this shows the government is listening to what the rakyat is saying but they choose to help themselves more than us.
“This is proof that they read, hear and see what the rakyat says. But they are adamant about working for their wives, children and cronies.”
“It’s really a clown act to wrap up the mineral water bottles. This is why the rakyat needs to rise up and speak out against these dinosaur politicians.”
