“It’s inconsiderate” – Group Receives Flak For Singing & Playing Worship Song On Airplane

A crying baby in a plane would result in many heads turning to glare at the mother. But what about a group of people breaking out into song with a guitar?

On 9 April, Jack Jensz Jr. posted a video of him and his team, singing Christian worship songs while on an easyJet (low-cost British airline) flight. The man playing the guitar was identified as a Singaporean named Jonathan (this will be relevant later on).

This certain video was made viral when a netizen reposted it on Twitter a week after.

The comments section on both TikTok and Twitter were largely against the group’s performance.

The group has received so much flak online that Jack Jensz Jr. had to explain that they were on their way back from a humanitarian mission in Ukraine and had permission from the pilot to sing on the plane.

“It was a big, joyful moment.”

In addition to that, a pastor in a Singaporean church has also issued a statement and said that Jonathan’s “public expression of faith is but one way an authentic Christianity can look like.”

“Regardless, people will disagree with Jon’s actions, especially on social media. And in an increasingly anti-christian climate, many (who btw have the right to their opinions) will amplify these narratives.”

The pastor doesn’t believe that Jonathan was imposing his religious belief on others and have said that Singapore is a neutral platform “for the free exercise of all cultural diversities”.

The issued statement was met with a lot of criticism as well.
