Patrick Ooi Says That Min Yong Has Been Resold & Informants Betrayed Him, But M’sians Don’t Buy His Story

The debate on the whereabouts of 22 year-old Chia Min Yong goes on.

In a statement 2 weeks ago, the President of Penang Action Party, Patrick Ooi claimed that the missing girl was locked in a dorm room in Myanmar. In another interview with Nan Yang Siang Pau on 11 May, Patrick revealed that Min Yong had been sold to another syndicate following the spreading news about her disappearance.

That may lead to a doubled redemption price to bring Min Yong back home safely.

Betrayal by informants

In the interview, Patrick said that he had told the Burmese soldiers to rescue Min Yong earlier but the mission became a failure when his informants apparently betrayed him.

“My informants leaked the news, so when the soldiers reached the provided location, no one was there and they returned empty-handed.”

Previously, Patrick also revealed that he is trying his best to rescue the abducted Malaysians in Myanmar. Last week, the price to redeem them was anywhere between RM50,000 to RM90,000. However, he said that there is currently an ongoing “promotion” where the Malaysians can be redeemed with only RM30,000.

“I’m saving as much as I can but I still have to wait for the family to prepare the ransom. Most importantly, it’s all up to the Malaysians in Myanmar themselves if they wish to return home.”

Patrick said that as of now, more Malaysians have headed over to the country to work, with most of them being Sabahans and Sarawakians.

1 of the Malaysians who made it home also revealed that he had personally seen Min Yong in the courtyard in Myanmar.

“Her job is to eat, work and sleep. Those who do not perform well will get beaten or will be asked to stand under the hot sun.”

The Malaysian, who refused to be identified also said that women will not get beaten and Min Yong’s movements are only limited to within the courtyard.

However, Malaysians seem to not buy Patrick’s version of the story and many of them claim that he is simply creating a story about the abduction.

“You write the script for everything & direct them yourself. If you really want to help, you wouldn’t have scolded the people who don’t trust you.”

“You seem to know everything. You should’ve worked together with the police and not only Min Yong will be saved but you will also get the credits. With the constant updates on your social media, it really feels like you’re the creating the whole story.”

“There you go with the storytelling again. Keep going.”

“Now I understand how you can save people by talking about it and not talk about it after you have actually saved the people.”

As PDRM has yet to release further statements, do you think Patrick is really doing his best to save the girl and other abducted Malaysians in Myanmar?
