The flood that hit Peninsular Malaysia late last year has completely receded but its memories will never be forgotten, especially in terms of help that had been offered to the victims.
Syed Saddiq is among the people who have tremendously helped the flood victims regardless of their race but unfortunately some people still think that he was simply putting up an act. Yes, yet again!
Recently, a netizen created a video to allegedly slander the co-founder of MUDA. The 2-minute video contains explanations on how he believed that Syed Saddiq has always been masquerading behind his propaganda.
Here’s what the video alleges:
- Did you really apply for help, Saddiq?
In the video, it was claimed that only 5-7 MUDA members actually followed the protocol by applying to help the flood victims in Muar. Hundreds of other volunteers had reportedly applied and the rest of the process was smooth sailing for them.
- Application greenlit but Saddiq was MIA
Saddiq explained in a live video last month that he had made the necessary application to assist flood victims in Muar, only for it to be rejected. However, the video claimed that the application was actually accepted and approved by the officers in Segamat but MUDA team members were nowhere to be seen.
- The weather was fine
Saddiq appeared in a live video on the night of 13 January, however Utusan reported that as of 14 January, the weather in Johor was generally fine and the number of flood victims have also decreased, implying that he was late to the scene.
- You were late!
The flood started to hit parts of Johor on 31 December last year but Saddiq allegedly came down to the state about a week later. Muar was affected on 3 January and Saddiq only appeared in the district on 7 January. The person who created the video demands answers from Saddiq on where had he been during the first 4 days of the flood in Muar.

Here’s my “receipt” of attendance
In response to these claims, Syed Saddiq replied via his Twitter account yesterday (8 February) by simply sharing a few images of him helping the flood victims as proof of his presence.
“Muar was affected by the flood 1st before other places. I know because the flood took place on my birthday – 6 December,” he explained.
Saddiq also said that the money which was spent on creating this video to defame and slander him could have been used to donate to the people in Muar who haven’t received any allocations from the government for 2 years.
Regardless, we are certainly indebted to everyone who has travelled all the way just to lend a helping hand to the flood victims.
